Full Day : Luang Prabang – Pak Ou Cave Full day
Pick up at your hotel and transfer to the pier. Today we travel upstream on a long-tailed boat for 2hrs to visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves located in the limestone cliffs.The sanctuaries at Pak Ou consist of two large caves, both repositories for thousands of Buddha images. Some of these are but a mere centimeter tall up to two meters in height.
End route, we’ll pass typical Lao villages and slender canoes bobbing on the shore. Before we return to the city, we will stop at Ban Xanghai village to see how Lao traditional rice whisky is distilled. Adventurous guests are free to try a sample.
Lunch will be at local restaurant on the banks of the Mekong. Once back in Luang Prabang, we’ll continue by car to Ban Xangkong, a well-known wood paper making and Lao silk weaving village. After a village tour and shopping, you’ll transfer back to the hotel for a free evening on your own.
