Full Day : Luang Prabang – Hill Tribes Village Full day
Meet up with your guide at the hotel and take a 15km drive to Elephant Camp. You’ll be able to learn about this Eco tourist and conservation program that cares for elephants while giving local people employment as mahouts.
Afterwards, we continue to Ban Nanyang 125km away to visit the Lu minority people. The village has 500 inhabitants and they grow their own cotton. Each household has 2-3 weaving looms underneath their houses on stilts.
This Lu village has their own weaving style and they make special tablecloths, wall hangings and scarves. We spend a few hours here strolling from home to home and interacting with locals.
A boxed lunch will be enjoyed with a family while we continue to learn how they preserve their traditional craft. On the way back, we can make a charitable stop en route to a local impoverished school to help the children with some donations.
